Happy (very very) belated New Year!! I hope 2010 is treating everyone well so far!!
Christmas was great this year!! The boys' were SPOILED. Seriously spoiled. As was I. And Garth. We had a blast. Christmas Eve we had friends over for appetizers & to just hang out. The kids' opened their PJs & loved them! They were so cute posing in front of the tree together too!
Christmas Day was awesome. Ryden slept in until 9! NINE!! Anson woke up earlier, but he hung out in the toy room until his brother got up. They opened their stockings right away, then we slowly made our way through the mountain. We took a couple "coffee" breaks (one to make the coffe, then one to get coffee). The boys loved all of their gifts. They couldn't wait to play with EVERYTHING. They'd bring us something to open so they could play with it, then find something else to play with while waiting for us to open the first toy, haha!
Then we went down the street to Reanna's. Mmm. Christmas foooooodddd. We had turkey & mashed potatoes & cabbage rolls & 3 kinds of salad (marinated veggies, marshmallow & spinach) & perogies & stuffing & gravy & buns. Holy YUM. We all pigged out & ate WAY too much. Then we had butter tarts & 3 kinds of cookies & brownies for dessert. Mmmm. I seriously love Christmas just for the food!
After lunch (we ate at 1:30), we all exchanged gifts. Again, SPOILED! Then we just hung out all day, had some leftovers around 6 & that's it. It was seriously the most low key Christmas we've ever had! And it was amazing! We came home around 8 & I tossed everything back under the tree & we went to bed. Great day!! Well, until about 9pm when Ryden started throwing up. He threw up every 20 minutes after that until about 6am. That wasn't fun.
Boxing Day, we took it slow in the morning to see how Ry was doing. He seemed fine, so we went shopping! Garth & I got MP3s for $12, the boys got new snow suits, & I got stocking hangers (finally!!). We had lunch at DQ (we had gone to Melfort), then came home & made 1 stop. Ry walked into the store, & yep. Threw up. He had been fine all day before that!! We took him home & gave him Gravol, which knocked him out. He went to bed at 6.
That night, we had a bunch of people over for Festivus. A friend of mine from school is dating a guy Garth went to school with here in Tisdale. They had gone to his parents for Christmas, so they came over. Then a couple of Garth's coffee buddies, my friend Heather, Ran & the kids. It was fun! Ry slept through it all, but that's ok. Everyone was gone by midnight, so I went to bed (still tired from being up with Ry the night before!).
Then we just hung out the rest of Christmas break. Ryden threw up AGAIN on the 27th, at like 11pm. Totally random! He had gotten up to pee, went downstairs, stood next to Garth & blahhhh. Then he was fine after that. Weird, 3 day flu! The Monday after Christmas, we went shopping in PA (the boys had Christmas money spend, so they got some games for the Wii & a hockey net), it was great day! So fun! That night (well morning, like 5am) Anson started throwing up. He was sick until 8. We laid low that day. He was fine all day & night too! Tuesday night? He woke up & sleptwalked/was sick. He seriously does not remember throwing up all over the bathroom. Then doing it again as soon as Garth had the 1st mess cleaned up, LOL. Fun stuff. Thankfully, that was the end of the Christmas flu for our house!
New Years Eve was here, we had people over again, both for supper (ham & scalloped potatoes), & appetizers. The kids went to bed late. They watched movies. We did too (I freaking LOVE The Hangover!!). It was nice! New Years Day, we went to Reanna's to lounge & eat leftovers (well, Garth & Anson didn't, but that's another blog post!). Another quiet, nice day!
So, all in all (minus the random flu spread over about 5 or 6 days lol), our holiday was great! Quiet, low key. LOTS of good food & fun! I hope yours was as enjoyable :D
