Wow, Have We Been Busy!

A lot has been going on around here lately! All good, so no worries! Wednesday night the boys & I went to Saskatoon. Thursday we went to Kinsmen Park & a new splash park on the riverbank, then R & I took the kids mini golfing at Market Mall.

Friday the boys both had their year end concerts. Ry graduated from Pre-K & is officially in kindergarten! A's concert was a cute recap of things they have learned in Grade one, it was a good day! Then that night we had G's work BBQ, which was fun as always & filled with laughter!

Saturday, it was rainy in the morning, but we still went to the parade. The boys got a bunch of muddy candy (ick), & had a blast watching the cool stuff go by. Then it was off to ball for the windup. Not everyone came, so instead of the 3 games planned, we divided the kids there into 2 teams & just played one game. Then we went to a coach's house for a BBQ, the kids had a blast playing together! We ended up staying there until 6!! Then we came home & just hung out until we all fell asleep! It was a nice, but busy last few days!!

2 Weeks And Counting

WOW. There are only 10 days of school left. That is just insane!!!

We had a busy, but very productive weekend. The Fofonoffs came over & we had a joint garage sale this past Saturday & Sunday. Combined, we made about $250!! We both got rid of a LOT of stuff, & we are considering a "quickie" sale next weekend, and another sale in August or September. R & I got a little crispy (stupid expired sunscreen!), but we had a lot of fun!

This week is just as busy! The boys have ball on Tuesday, Wednesday night, Fofonoffs & the boys & I are off to Saskatoon until Thursday night, Friday is R's Pre-K grad, & A's Grade 1 year end concert, then that night is G's work BBQ. Saturday, the boys have their ball windup. WHEW!

Okay, off to clean & do laundry. I need to catch up from the weekend, & get stuff ready for the city, and everything else, LOL!

7 And Counting

I had to take Ryden to the hospital last night. His coughing was just HORRIBLE :( Of course, it was his asthma (and so the cough syrup high we created the night before was totally pointless, & that episode is a post of it's own!!). So now, on top of his 3 regualr asthma meds, & the erythomicen he is taking for his strep throat from last week, the dr added Ventolin, Pulmicort & PrediaPred to his menu. Fun. We had to haul out our trusty nebulizer, so yay.

I have decided we're going to start taking him to an asthma specialist, because dealing with different doctors is making me INSANE. We see one, who tells us to do F, G & H. Then the next time we go in, we see a different doctor who says F, G & H are wrong, & we're supposed to do O, P & Q. FUN!!! Not. Makes for one cranky momma, & one sick little boy!

Sickness aside, we are gearing up for a garage sale tomorrow. I have SO much stuff! WOW! And it's only the boys' clothes!! Good grief. And I was right, by the way. I had told G to wait until Ry was 5, then I'd probably get rid of more baby baby stuff. I got rid of half!! YAY ME! So that's all in the wash now. I also have to wipe down our 2 booster seat things for kitchen chairs, and dig some stuff out of the shed. Other than that, I'm ready!

OH! And congrats to G's cousin, Derek, & his wife Lindsey! They had two healthy baby girls this morning!! Emma was 6 pounds, 13 ounces, & Brynn was 6 pounds, 8 ounces! Can't wait to meet them & see big sister Aubree as well!!!

Stamp-A-Licious!!

As many of you know, I scrap, & make cards. I LOVE to make cards, & have, in fact, made a New Year's resolution to ONLY use handmade cards for the entire year of 2009. Which I have done so far, may I add!

Because I make a LOT of cards, I am always looking for cute, new stamps, and ESPECIALLY ones that are "multi use" (ie, can use 1 stamp a million and seven different ways). I found one. And I love it! So, I am blogging about it in hopes of winning one for my collection!!

Is this not the CUTEST thing ever??? I just adore it!! So many uses. So many ideas flowing. I would absolutely love to win this set, & create a TON of cards!!! Thanks for letting me enter your wonderful contest, Bettina!!!!

Big Mouthed RyRy

Heh. So, G came home for lunch today & R told him what his class is making for Father's Day gifts. You can't tell this kid ANYTHING!!

Happy Early Father's Day

Oops! We went to PA yesterday. I got part of G's Father's Day gift, a hat. R squealed. We got home & he told G "we got you a hat dad!!". A was upset. "R!!!" he yelled. "It's for Father's Day, you don't TELL him!". It's okay. I have another idea I was using as well, so at least that part will surprise him. I just need to find a couple things first!!

We had a fairly low key weekend. I bought a new bathing suit on Friday, & ended up getting one HELL of a deal! We have a store in town, Discount Furniture Warehouse, that buys truckloads of "stuff", they ended up with a load of clothes, bathing suits, shoes, etc. I found a cute sweater from Sears, regular $60, that I got for $20. Then, I found this pretty bathing suit (black, white & yellow), for $25. On Staurday, I was flipping through the Sears books, looking for a new coffee pot (ours is acting up), when I found my pretty bathing suit. For $115.99!!! ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN DOLLARS! For a bathing suit!! I almost fell off the couch! But I was very excited I only paid $25 for it!!

Not a lot going on this week. A is going swimming tomorrow with his class, the Children's Festival is Friday (note to self, MUST get pics of R in chicken costume!), then on Saturday, R & I are having a garage sale, dependent on weather, of course! It's rainin g & +6 today, but supposed to be 23 Saturday. Heh. We'll see. Off to get more stuff ready to sell!!!

Change Of Plans

We're off to Melfort to go swimming & for supper at Dairy Queen! The boys are SO excited. I can't wait to bust out my new bathing suit, after my pink & orange one got ruined at the Days Inn in PA (and yes, this one has a tamer color scheme!). Ciao!

TGIF!!!!!!

Yay people, it's Friday!!! A chilling, "brrrrr" inducing Friday, but friday nonetheless!!!

I did have a few things planned for the weekend, but yuck, it's too cold!!! Tomorrow, I believe will be a garage sale day with my neighbor. G is talking about heading to PA with another neighbor/his best pal since like grade 2. I don't want to go, so he & T can go just the two of them.

Sunday will be a boring day I am sure. Nothing planned, since we'll most likely be inside, LOL!!! Stupid June weather :(

The boys had their first game last night & both cracked the ball pretty good!! Anson hit first pitches both times, & Ry took a couple swings each time. I'd feel so bad for my boys if they were one of the few kids that swung about 80 times. I feel bad for any kid that has that happen to them :( Especially when they finally get the ball tees. You can tell they are disappointed. Poor kids.

We did have 1 minor injury last night. One of our kids (a Hvidston, imagine that LOL) just smoked the ball, & and caught poor Carter Nagy in the cheek. Just, POW. There was instant silence, then he just WAILED. Onalee ran him to the ER, just to check things out & he is fine. I talked to her this morning, & she said that Carter rolled over in his sleep & bumped his nose on the bed, which woke him up & he just cried. Poor Carter!!

Well, now I guess I need to work on laundry, which seems to never ever end!! Silly kids, changing 3 times a day!!!

And The Results Say...

The doctor called us back today, with the results of Ry's throat swab. He tested positive for Group A Strep, aka strep throat. So the doctor called in a prescription for us. The good news is that his fever broke this morning. At 6:20am, he was 100.5F. G took him downstairs, to give him Tylenol. At 7:30 I checked him again, & he was 37.6F!! I called G to tell him the Tylenol worked & he said, what Tylenol? He didn't give the poor kid any! But, the fever is gone now (I've been checking all day), so at least that is some good news! Now he just has to take his medicine for 10 days!

Other than that, I've done a bunch of nothing today. The boys have their first ball game tonight, & G just walked in from work, so off to eat supper!

Sick 5 Year Olds = Exhausted Moms

So, Ryden is sick. Poor guy. He said that his throat was sore yesterday afternoon, which I kinda just brushed off. Gave him a popsicle, said you'll be fine, & contiued on my merry way. We went to ball, came home & he laid on the couch. And fell asleep. By 7:45. That NEVER happens!

He woke up once, & said his head hurt. Well. Actually, he screamed when I picked him up to take him to bed. Um, hello raging headache. That is also when I noticed he was really hot. So I dug out the thermometer & shockingly, the battery was dead. So G got our backup from his mom & dad's. Yep. Fever. 102.

I put his jammies on him, gave him some cold water to drink, and of course some Motrin. At 11, I took him upstairs & gave him Tylenol. Wash, rinse, repeat all night. When we got up for the day (notice I didn't say "woke up"), he was still at 100.8F. Which means that a night filled with Tylenol & Motrin did nothing except get rid of the screaming headache.

I took him to the hospital today (where I was also informed that we no longer have a family doctor, awesome), and we got in right away! We had an intern come in & check Ry out (a brand new intern, as in, he can't even be called doctor yet). Then Dr John came in & did everything all over again. And then he told me to keep up the juice/water, Tylenol & Motrin cycle. If the fever doesn't break by tomorrow morning, I have to take him back.

So we go to buy more Tylenol, juice & Gatorade, & popsicles. Meanwhile, the nurse is calling our house, over & over. Apparently, she forgot to do a throat swab. So, back to the hospital we go! Now, he is laying on the couch & watching cartoons. I hope he naps soon, he looks so tired! And I am exhausted!!

So, that's what we've been up to! Yard work, ball & more yard work. We painted the sheds & deck this past weekend, I'll have to take pictures & post them on here (or post them on Facebook & link them here LOL). Time to give Ry some Motrin, so later!
