2012 is OUR Year!!

Well. I have no excuses. It has been a long, LONG time since I have visited, errr, posted! I have been incredibly busy with the boys, their social lives (hockey, other sports, school & everything else!), and my home business taking off! Part of taking back time for me in 2012 includes blogging, so fingers crossed I can keep it up!

Speaking of that, the taking back time for me thing? That is my non-resolution, resolution for this year. I hate making resolutions, since when I feel compelled to do something? It makes me not want to do it. LOL. So here are some little things in my life I`d like to change, just to that I am LIVING life, & not just existing.

- Make more time for ME. This includes saying no to volunteer duties, or making hats on short notice, or otherwise feeling pressured to do something, when I know that I do not have the time or energy to commit to something. I will normally do it anyway, forfeiting sleep, eating, etc. Ànd that`s just not fair to ME!

- Make more time for my husband. I`d love to commit to 1 date night a month, but seriously? With the boys` being so busy with their activities, it just won`t happen (see first point!). But if we have the chance to go for supper, or even lunch, I`d like to take advantage of it! We will be celebrating our 10th anniversary at the end of March, so I`d love to take a trip, just us. That has yet to happen since we`ve had kids, BTW. While a beach would be ideal, I`d be okay with a weekend jaunt to the city sans kids too.

- Make more time for my family. We eat supper together at the table most nights (in between hockey practices & games, like tonight!), which makes me happy. But it would be nice to more FUN things. Sledding at the hill, going skating, just hanging out! And not when we HAVE to be somewhere. Just because we can. Even a game night. Over Christmas break, we spent an evening just watching movies together & it was nice. The boys stopped fighting for longer than 10 minutes, & it was a nice, relaxing night at home.

- Get ORGANIZED. Those who know me, know I am OCD. Lately? Not so much! My house has gone to pot, I keep losing things I really need, & yeah. I have turned into a disaster. I would love to get that back, so I plan on creating a family command station, & revamping my Household Organization binder. I also plan to use my latest addiction (and possible explanation of why my organization has gone down the tubes, LOL), Pinterest, to my full advantage. I`d love to spend $20 to make 9 months worth of laundry detergent, & other crafty type ideas!

- Menu Planning. Part of my Home Binder is menu planning. We do eat fairly healthy as it is, but I do need to break out of my shell & start vamping up our menu selection. I tend to stick to about 10 dishes I know the boys love, but would love to start making a wider variety of meals. Part of this means kicking my recipe blog back into high gear (you can find that at www.therecipesofasahm.blogspot.com). So far, I have tried 3 new recipes to the delight of the boys!

- Organize my store! Two years ago, I started crocheting hats for my nieces & nephews. Well. It has EXPLODED. I now create adorable little animal hats & team mohawk hats, make tutus & hair clippies, & am starting to explore slippers, mittens & other accessories. In November & December, I made 200 hats. INSANE. I`d love create a mini store in my office for when friends stop over to look at stuff, & then just organize my order forms & whatnot.

So there you have it! Six steps to make 2012 OUR year! Wish me luck :D

Oh & readers. This blog isn`t for just me. YOU tell me, what are your steps to make 2012 your year?
