I have a bodyguard, did you hear? I (finally, thanks to Carrie), headed to bed around 12:30 last night. Ameira followed, as per usual. I went into the bathroom, shutting the door before she got in, so she did her "rounds", jumping on the boys' beds to make sure they were ok. I come out & and she has something stuck to her paw, or so I thought. It rustled a little bit, so I just figured she had stepped on some tape & now it was stuck to her. So, I lean down & touch her paw, and...a FLY flies up into my FACE! I scream, obviously not expecting a fly in the dead of a cold, frozen, prairie winter, and jump back. Right away, Mimi is up & ready to save her mommy from the lost fly (because really, how many flies have you seen in Saskatchewan in February??). The little bugger flies into my room, because the light was on, & is now trying to beat itself to death on my pretty light fixture. I turn to go into my room, & my protector kitty is circling my feet, and trying to head me off to go downstairs. I resist her pretty blue kitty eyes & go into the bedroom, with Ameira meowing & walking in between my feet the whole way. I grab a dirty sock (since I've sort of slacked on that little chore as of late), & am swatting at the damn thing. Hot pink socks are a great weapon against flies I found out. The entire time I'm flinging the sock around above my head (go ahead & laugh at the mental picture, Garth did too), Ameira is angrily meowing at me and/or the fly. I finally get the sucker, & and run to the bathroom to grab a Kleenex so I can flush, er, dispose of the little guy. Go back to my room to find WonderCat trying to consumed said hot-pink sock beaten fly. I'm so lucky to have Ameira, lol!
She really is quite the protector. She will follow us to the bathroom, to make sure everything is ok, and checks on the boys at night while they sleep. And my favorite? Sits on the bathmat while you are in the tub/shower. Or, if you shut the door before she can sneak in, she will lay in front of the bathroom door until you come out. Either way, she is guaranteed to be there & to get dripped on. She's just trying to make sure we make it out alive, I suppose! Silly kitty.
I didn't do much today. A friend came for coffee this morning while the boys were in school. Her birthday is tomorrow, so we made plans to go for supper & then for a drink afterwards, sans both kids AND husbands (oh, the trouble that will ensue, lol). Anson doesn't have practice tomorrow, thanks to some hockey camp or someting-or-other, woo hoo! Then he has a game in Carrot River on Sunday. Garth is also off this weekend, so that will be nice. That's about it, really. We're quite exciting in our little corner of the earth. I talked to my mom today (oh crap, forgot to phone my aunt) about Easter, & how she has plans to put me to work, cleaning out my grandpa's house. It will be nice, one last visit before we sell & I never see it again :( My Nana & Papa have had that house for over 50 years (52 this July), so it truly is the end to an era. I think when we moved my Papa into the home in July (happy birthday Robyn!), I was so busy, that it didn't really sink in, you know? This time will be quieter, less hectic, so I'm sure it will hit me even more then. I spent many a weekend there with my grandparents. Making forts out of cedar shingles, painting or playing piano with my Nana, going for rides on the Bobcat with Papa, yeah, lots of good memories. Our offical last Easter in Springwater. I think that in all of my 25 years, I have spent at least 22 Easters in Springwater. It is very fitting that we clean the house out for good at Easter. But I promise not to dig up the baby bunnies to take with me, mom!!
And, so ends another bloggity thingamajig. Not sure when I'll be back, you never know with me. Could be in a week, or in 10 minutes because I've thought of something else I figured all you bloggers should know! Till next time!!
Welcome to my life as a SAHM of 2 boys. Things may be quick & exciting, or they may be slow. Depends on the day & the boys! There will be TONS of stories about my boys. And, once I figure it out, pictures. So, enjoy reading!!

Less Than A Month!!!
So, what is new? Not a whole lot! One week closer to hockey being doing (less than 3 weeks now!), which means my job will be DONE! Yay for that. The boys went back to school today. I'm not ashamed to admit I was giddy with the thought of "mommy time" on Wednesday! And, I got more "mommy time" tomorrow morning! YAY! Anson's class is going to Sasko Park tomorrow (a senior home). They are going to do what they would have done in their classroom, at Sasko, with an elderly person. They are going 3 times! It should be fun & exciting. And more so for Anson, because Garth's grandpa is living at Sasko now, recovering from his stroke. Although, he won't be there tomorrow, as he is in Saskatoon, being assessed for an extensive stroke rehab program they have at City Hospital. Great Grandpa Otto will miss tomorrow, but will be there the next 2 times.
Ryden's class went sledding on Monday for their parent component. It was so fun! Ryden's favorite part was crashing into the fence, which I have on video, but have yet to upload it yet. Afterwards, we all went to Ryden's class for some hot cocoa & a couple donuts (Tara!!). Fun times!
I suppose I should put my monsters to bed though. They are playing hockey in our "soon to be craft area", & are starting to get WILD! I'll be back yet tonight, as I have found some more contests to blog about!!! Till then!

Back To The Real World, 6 Years Later
Well, I'm officially working again! Technically, I suppose I'm volunteering, but I am getting paid to do so. I will spend 2 hours a week with 3 people that have schizophrenia (which I totally cannot spell). It's basically like home care, except I'm not being paid what a "true" home care worker would make. However, having this on my resume will help with my LPN course. So yeah, I only do it when I am able to, & while the boys are both in school, which limits my time to 2 mornings a week. Hopefully, I may even be able to squish that into the 2.5 hour window I have twice a week while Ryden is at Pre-K (Anson's kindergarten is all day). And next year, should I continue this "job", I can work 4 mornings a week, if I want, for those 2.5 hours. Anson will be in grade 1 & Ryden in Pre-K again (sniff sniff), so Anson will be gone everyday, & Ryden Tuesday - Friday mornings. Or, I can just do 1 hour a week. It's up to me!! YAY!
We have hockey today, boo. I'm tired & have a headache & don't want to go anywhere. It's also mother cold out too! -28 without the wind. Like that's not bad enough, with the wind, it's -40, plus we're under a windchill warning. Joy. Yesterday was actually semi decent, so Ryden stayed outside for half an hour after school while I made lunch. Garth checked on him, & he was just hanging out in a circle of packed down snow. Garth asked what he was doing, & Ryden goes, chilling out in the lake. Oh my smart boy. To be at the lake right now, when it's nice & warm, instead of trapped in the house with 2 cabin fevered kids. Talk about bliss!! Off to hockey, & the cold rink!

OK OK!!
I'm back, yeesh people. Still not anything going on!! I mean really! I do mom stuff, can't be that exciting! Went to a cheesy 80s illusionist last night (remember T, you're thuper thpecial!!), had some good laughs (unfortnately at the illusionists expense). A great friend invited us, & we had a great time staying up way past our bedtimes, we will definately have to do that again, well, without the 80's cheese, lol.
The boys are busy with school & hockey. Anson has 2 games left & then the big home tournament on March 9. He was in the Kindergarten Circus last week at school, it was great! He was the knife thrower & a monkey. I'm not very computer literite (I can barely spell!), but pictures & video are on my facebook (so go look now! Hurry!). Ryden can skate now!! His class has gone 3 times now, & he will actually keep his skates on for longer than 2.6 seconds! YAY! Thank you Miss Hauser!!
I had kind of meglected my poor ol' blog, accidentally on purpose. Some crazy whacko in Edmonton threw a giant fit in mid January, apparently my world must revolve around her?? God forbid I say something that she can twist around to be about her. She must be pretty high on herself, thinking that my little world 8 hours away revolves around her. Hate to break it to you sweetie, but you're simply an itsy bitsy blip in my giant map of life! And another crunchy in IL, that is holding something over my head, yet I have no idea what?? Or why?? Oh the drama!! Good times, in internet land!!
What else is new?? I got a semi parttime job, as a paid volunteer through a friend that is the mental health nurse in town. It will possibly be 2 hours, 2 mornings a week, as needed. Not too shabby anyway. I've been trying to catch up on my scrapbooking (quite unsuccessfully, I might add). Wishing for summer. It was -51C with the windchill this morning. That is absolutely no fun, let me tell you. The boys love wearing all the gear I make them out on (not). Yet, it's supposed to be +1C by Saturday. Wow. The second it hits -5, with no wind, my kids are being booted to the yard. I absolutely cannot WAIT for it to be nice enough to send them outside when they start to squabble!! WHEW! Is it April yet?
Speaking of April. We have 2 birthdays in April! My babies will be 4 & 6, amazingly! We've started the party talks. Anson wants to go glow bowling, which sound AOK to me, since he wants to invite 15 kids!! YIKES! I'm not sure what we'll do for Ryden's. He has the nice, reasonable number of 8. Also, our anniversary is next month. We're trying to plan a trip to Regina for the night, but a lot will depend on work schedules & kids & whatnot. And, I think that's a big enough update for now!!
