I've been getting back into scrapbooking, YAY!! I have done a couple online crop challenges, it helps me actually accomplish SOMETHING. They give you a sketch, or layout to do, and then you post your results. It is so neat to see other people's takes on the same layout. The color combinations, the use of embellishments, which pictures they chose, etc.
I especially like doing an online crop, because then I get inspired to do other pages. I have 2 family albums, of just random events/things we've done, and I have 1 page done for Anson's album. I want to make each of the boys an album, eventually. In the end, I want all of our "good" pictures scrapped into an album. Which will take me...forever. Because I will always take pictures. I want to make the boys high school albums, and wedding albums, and grandbaby albums. I can't wait! This is my lifetime goal, to scrapbook my family's life.
To accomplish this, I have created my own little space in my (our, whatever) bedroom, under the window. It's quite primitive right now, a hunk of plywood tossed on top of 2 bookcases. Yeah. I kind of worked with what I had, lol. Eventually, if we ever have the space, I'd like a room of all my scrapbooking STUFF. For right now, my space works. It could use a little more organization, but it is decent. I just wish we had a laptop now, so I could bring the computer upstairs, lol. Ahh, that would be heaven! Off to work on more pages!!
Welcome to my life as a SAHM of 2 boys. Things may be quick & exciting, or they may be slow. Depends on the day & the boys! There will be TONS of stories about my boys. And, once I figure it out, pictures. So, enjoy reading!!

Flashback
So. I have to rant/vent/let it out out. I admit, I spend a lot of my day online. I visit a couple mom fourms. Oh alright, there's about 4 I visit everyday. There is one, a mom one, that while I hate the board, I go back because I have made some friends there, and I like to check up on them. Other than that, the board sucks. I have never ever felt more unwelcome, ANYWHERE. And the worst part is, it is a freaking FORUM! Not a single person there knows me in real life, yet, they hate me (except for the 5 or so I would consider to be friends). Because they feel I made bad choices as a parent! Isn't that funny!
Let's see if I can list what I did wrong. I had c-sections with both boys. TO SAVE THEIR LIVES. But, that was wrong, I should have let my children die, instead of having a section. I had to quit breastfeeding Anson, because my milk disappeared. But, I should have starved him instead of "giving up". I quit breastfeeding Ryden the day of his first birthday. I should have let him lead the weaning process. I don't work, I stay at home, I'm not a vegetarian, it's endless. And yep. Not a single one of these women have met me. Amazing isn't it? That they know me so well online, they can dictate my real life.
The worst part is, I had no issues with a majority of them. Just one (I blogged about that situation before, about my sections & how I "copped out" of giving birth). But, because this is apparently high school all over again, the "leader" hates me, so everyone else has to. I was really close to one of the women, but apparently, she is a follower of the know-all mom (who has 1 child, that is a lot younger than my boys). So now, she ignores me. Deleted me off her facebook, myspace, MSN, etc. Yeah. That was mature wasn't it? (PS - I know, I too, am immature, blogging about it, & making an "issue" over this. I'm just fed up, so don't read if you don't like my whining).
The worst part is the feeling of being ignored. Someone brought up an issue a family member was having, and it was something I had personally experienced, so I offered a tidbit of advice. Every single person that replied to that thread was thanked. Me, not so much. I wasn't even acknowledged. Nice, isn't it? I'm just so over the whole, giggly, wigged out teenager aspect of things. These people have children, and are supposed to be role models. Yet, go around treating others like freaking garbage (it's not just me, BTW, they have done, and do, it to other moms on the board). And yet, people don't get why society is effed up.
Anyway. I'm just so tired of being treated like dirt, and being made feel so unwelcome. I am done high school, and have been for awhile, yet, here I am, in a high school situation. So, I'm done with that board. It sucks, because I have made a couple true friends on there, but at least I'll have my sanity, I suppose. My last visit was last night, and I will likely not be going back. What a friendly board.
(I promise not to be grouchy in my next post, sorry!)

A Homeowner's Weekend
Today is a "house day". Ever since buying our house, when it's nice outsie, we have home weekends, where we do...well..home stuff. We've built a deck, tore off a veranda, organized a toy room, painted a bathroom. You get the idea. Today will be a day of organizing the awkward little area that I am in now. It's the entrance slash office slash...nothing. It was originally the kitchen, so we have a lovely gas line poking up through a hole in the floor. I think I'm going to move my scrapbook desk down here, to under the window. And then I will really have to organize it & clean it up!! And if that doesn't work, then back upstairs it goes until I can find a hutch or armoire (for cheap!) to store it all in!! Garth has his own projects he wants to do, that he couldn't do yesterday.
Speaking of yesterday, we went swimming! It was a friend's son's 6th birthday, so we went to Melfort's pool. The boys had a blast swimming, and then we had hot dogs & cake. Me, being the great friend I am, left poor Aiden's present at home. In Tisdale. Oops. So I ran it over after we got back to town. Sorry again Aiden!! He absolutely adored his water gun though! Have fun mom & dad!! Owen was quite the fan of the soccer net we gave Aiden, so I know it will get used!!
Aren't I exciting? Such a wild weekend! I tell ya, I need to slow 'er down sometimes!! LOL! Ciao!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like...
SUMMER!!! YAY!! The boys are outside (and have been since they wolfed down lunch), and have no intentions of coming in anytime soon. And, garage sale season has started in our little town! The Anglican Church Rummage Sale is the official "season starter" here. Anson & I stopped in after we dropped Ryden off at school. Yeah. Not a whole lot. Anson bought Pokemon Monopoly for a whole quarter. I was certain I'd come home & toss it because a good chunk was missing, but nope. Everything is there! Score!
I also made a summer purchase today (not from a garage sale though). I bought a pool for the backyard! Just one of those above ground ones, the blue ones from Sears. But, I can guarantee the boys will be in it just about everyday! I can't wait to get it set up & filled. And for it to be warmer out! I know it will be a summer highlight for us!!
I have to take Amiera back to the vet today. She got spayed about 3 weeks ago (or was it 2?), and was also treated for ear mites. Well, she's still scratching her ears like mad!! Although, as Murphy Law predicts, she hasn't scratched since I called Dr K. Hmph. We'll get there & she'll be fine, and it will have been a waste of my time, fighting her in the car, making the boys get in the car & seatbelts done up, etc etc etc. All the fun stuff that happens when you take a cat & 2 kids to the vet. Exactly how I wanted to spend my afternoon!! Maybe I'll buy supper after our "excursion", since it will have taken so much out of me, lol!! Otherwise, it's something microwavable!!

Oops, I Did It Again!
I slacked! Sorry! But, we have been crazy busy around here! The boys birthdays were April 13 & 14. Ryden had his Pirate Party on the 13, and had a blast! Anson's party was the 19, and he was supposed to play road hockey outside. Instead, it was miserable (of course), so there were TEN kids in my house. Yep. Ten. 1. 0. 10. It was a tiny bit insane! Yikes. But, he loved it, and had fun, so I suppose that's all that matters, right?
Ryden got a nasty cold mid-April. Of course it hit his ears. And, that was when he had his 4 year check up. They did the hearing screening and the nurse tells me, Ryden can't hear. It can't be, I say. He has a cold. I go home, crying. Garth & I whispered at him, hid our faces & whispered, he heard us fine!! I talk to Ryden's teachers, they haven't noticed anything. I take him to the dr the next day, and yep. His right ear is bulging. Two weeks later, we go back (yesterday), and his ears are better, YAY! Then I find out that, in the Winter of 06/07, Ryden was on medicine for ear infections 10 times!! 7 in 2006, and 3 in 2007 (Sept 06 - Apr 07). Um, gulp. We are seeing the nurse practioner right now (drs are too busy for us), but she is awesome. Answering any & all my questions. She said they'd watch him really closely to be sure he isn't having issues (the first nurse was sort of a drama queen about all of this, BTW), and that if I have any concerns, whatsoever, let her know. I guess I hesitated, because she asked, what? I mentioned that my sister Paige is deaf in one ear, and has had tubes a couple times. My awesome NP said, ok, let's get him in now. So today, I got his appts called in. He goes for an ACTUAL hearing test May 14 (and we also see our NP that day, but that's for his asthma). It will be a real hearing test, none of this stupid, public nurse crap. And then we see the EN&T dr in June (we know him, he took Anson's tonsils out last year, his bedmanner lacks quite a bit, but he's a good surgeon). OH! And DramaNurse called today, wanting to change the time of Ryden's re-screen. Here's our conversation:
DN ~ Hi Robyn, it's DramaNurse. I was wondering if we could change Ryden's appt at the end of May to 4, instead of 9?
Me ~ Oh, I was going to call you this week! Actually, Ryden is getting a real hearing test done with the audiologist on the 14th, so I was going to cancel.
DN~ Oh, so he IS deaf then!
Me ~ Um, no. This is preventitive, never mind the fact that he is prone to ear infections. I was really uncomfortable with how you handled it, so I took him to the dr the next day. This is what we decided.
DN ~ Oh, well, have a nice day th..... *click*
Did I mention I do not like DramaNurse? Yeah. Fun, isn't it?
Anson is all signed up for ball. I'm *cough cough* coaching. Yeah. Because I'm athletic!! Or, not. We'll see. LOL. I'm volunteering for the Diabetes Foundation & canvassing next week (just 2 blocks, by my house). Yeah. Not a lot going on, but at the same, doing a lot!! LOL! OH! I won!! I finally won a blog contest!! I won a really pretty mommy bracelet from MJennings Desgins! I'm so excited to get it!! And, that's it for the life of Robyn! Aren't you glad you've stalked my blog everyday for that update?? :)
