Well, we made it back from Provost. The boys had so much fun playing with their little cousin! Garth did a lot of work, more than he expected, so he is still tired. The boys also loved their first stay in a hotel!! Other than that, it was good...
Now we are back at home, & back to real life. School, ball, playdates, birthday parties for the boys, cleaning for me (ick). Going away for even 4 days means my house is a disaster, & that there is a moutain of laundry lurking in the dark, waiting for me. Also, the vaccuming. I love to vaccum. But, lately, not so much. We have (gasp) carpet in our kitchen/dining room right now, & I absolutely HATE it. It's disgusting. Looks gross, feels gross, DISGUSTING! I cannot wait until our new floors are in!
Sadly, the floors probably won't be done until winter. We have a few yard projects we will be doing first. A new deck, a fence, building up the sand box, etc. And since it is nice for generally 3 months out of a year, we have to do the yard stuff when we can! I am very excited for a fence though. With our house being a corner lot, we have zero privacy, & that sucks.
Well, the dishwasher just finished, so I guess I should go empty it! And start the laundry I have been avoiding so far today!!
Welcome to my life as a SAHM of 2 boys. Things may be quick & exciting, or they may be slow. Depends on the day & the boys! There will be TONS of stories about my boys. And, once I figure it out, pictures. So, enjoy reading!!

A Letter To Mom
This is the letter Anson (7 years old) gave me for Mother's Day. I am copying it exactly from the letter, spelling mistakes & all ;)
My mom's name is Robyn. she Has brown with c sum onange hare. She has brown eyes. She like to clen. She relax by sleep or shoping. and clens the houes. She woke aroud the houes and i love love love love my mom.
HAHAHAHA. Garth's favorite part is where I relax by shopping. He said wow, he really DOES know you!! Hardy har har, G. And he laughs about my cleaning. He doesn't think I do enough (stupid man, little does he know!). It is really cute though, & made me tear up, sniff sniff.
Ry gave me a little plant (I think it's a bean, hehe), and a little flower pot that he painted. Very cute!! I love the little things they make for me. I found the gift Anson gave me last year in Kindergarten. It is so cute! It's a ceramic tile, with his handprint stamped onto it, and on the back is a poem about Moms. Very adorable.
These are the things I will treasure the most. Right now, I have all their school papers in boxes in the storage room. G is giving me grief over the boxes (again). Before, it was because I saved every single baby item that touched the boys. I was finally able to get rid of some (yes SOME) of that stuff. I'm not going to lie, I still have 4 or 5 boxes of baby stuff! But, I did get rid of a fair bit (Caden helped with that, haha).
Now, it's school boxes. He wants to know why I have to keep everything. It's because I'm a MOM, silly man! Those chicken scratches are the first time Ry wrote his whole name, or the dinosaur & chicken Anson drew when he was 2, and they actually LOOK like a dinosaur & chicken! His first math pages, including the little booklet he did on addition with every answer right. The first time Ryden colored in the lines, or the sand castle he drew & won a contest for. It's hard to just toss those out!
Just like the clothes, seeing something in those boxes takes me back to that moment, that day, that little boy grin. First pair of sandals, big boy shirt, the shorts just like dad's. It's a glimpse of the past, what was, & what is yet to be. My time capsules in my storage room.

I Can't Feel My Toes!!! :(
It snowed AGAIN today! While the boys had ball practice. Double ick. It's one thing to be inside while it snows in May, but another to be standing around for an hour in it! The boys got hot chocolate out of it anyway!!
Garth had to go to Saskatoon for work today, at 1. Something is up with the pool, so he had to go get some chemical for it. He is still there (it is almost 8), with his 2 bosses & the pool manager. I took them coffee, since it's so cold out! Poor guys!
Today I spent the day cleaning the house & doing laundry. All in preparation for our trip tomorrow. I stil have a bit of laundry to finish up, & I need to do a couple little things, then I can start packing. I walked all over a store today, looking for toothbrush covers. I tried the toothpaste/brush aisle, the travel item aisle, nothing. Guess where I found them. In the camping section! So, there's an FYI for you!! Haha.
Last night I made a pretty sign for by our door. Here it is.

I love how it turned out!! Now to get G to hang it for me!! Well, we will probably wait until we paint the ugly green down here, but hopefully that happens soon!!
Ok, off to put the boys to bed!! Night!

Recap
Woke up to snow again today :( Just hardly any, but it's still snow. Yesterday was decent, about 19C (66F). It rained a tiny bit, we heard some big thunder booms, saw some crazy lightning. Not abnormal for May, right? Then, it got icky. There was the snow this morning, & the expected high is -3C (27F). Nice huh? And people wonder why they get sick!!
Our Mother's Day was quiet, for the most part. A had slept over at P's. G & R made me breakfast in bed, then R went to P's too. I went through the tons o' stuff in my bedroom & cleaned it out completely. The plan was for G's parents to come for supper, which they did. So did our neighbor & her 2 kids, & then another friend & 2 of her kids. The kids had a blast playing together, they played Lego, football, ministicks, etc. The 2 little girls loved the sandbox!
Then Monday, I took the boys to PA to meet R (P had his appointment there that day), & we tok the kids swimming. They love water!! Silly little fish! We did some shopping, & just hung out together. It was good.
Yesterday, the boys started ball. I sat in the rain to watch them, what a great mom I am ;) A loved it, of course, R, not so much! At one point, he went over & sat in my chair & said he quit, LOL. G is coaching the boys this year. Possibly a bad idea. They split the kids into groups, & he ended up with both our boys. Of course, they wouldn't listen to dad! So he sent them to the other groups, making everyone happy. They quit fighting, & started listening, haha. Then they played at the playground for a while. It was a good night, except for the rain!
Today, I am just going to hang out at home, since it's pretty gross outside, & clean my house. It's nice to have some quiet after a busy few days!

Oh For Crying Out Loud!!
I woke up to....snow today. Dun dun dunnnnn.
Yep. Snow. In May. Did I mention I burnt my neck on Sunday? While wearing shorts at the park?? And now there is snow. Stupid weather!! Hopefully, once it warms up this weekend, it will STAY warm!!
Our trip prep is in full swing now! G called the hotel his friend manages in Provost & booked our rooms. I am still not sure if he's taking Friday afternoon off, so we can leave earlier, instead of getting there at 10pm. I also would like to pop in to see my Papa on the way through Biggar, if possible. I guess we'll see. I've got my list together, so I hope we don't forget anything!
My bathroom is one more step towards completion as well! On Monday, Ran & I added a couple more "homey touches", so I will have to do a complete before & after post of it, and of the toy room too.
Speaking of the toy room. Ugh. I got the holes patched & filled, and sanded. I sorted through alllll the toys, threw the broken ones out & tried to put some away for a garage sale. But the boys were helping, so a few didn't make it into the sale pile, LOL. I went to get the paint, & then, the shocking part. G decided he hates the colors I picked! I had picked a really pretty tealish blue for the main wall, & light blue for the other walls. He says no way. So, now I have to go back to the Home Center & look at paint chips again! Yuck. I might just pick a neutral (brownish color) & then we can paint the fugly green in the rest of the downstairs that color as well.
Well, I should close this up, because it's getting long (imagine that!). I should do another post for Mother's Day though. Really, I guess it doens't matter. No one reads, so it's more just for me, being too lazy to write this stuff down on paper. Well, at least it will help with my scrapbooking in a few years ;)

Ouch.
I have my first sunburn of the season. Lame. Silly me sprayed down the boys, & my arms and face. Forgot about my neck. Stupid short hair! So now my neck is hot & itcy, bleeeeccchhhh.
The party was, however, a HUGE success! The kids had a BLAST running around, & it was absolutely gorgeous out! 21C!! They hardly touched the sandtoys I brought, & just ran around, & played. No injuries or crying either!
We did have an almost tragedy however. I ran to get the cake (Denise did an AMAZING job on it BTW, go see my facebook pictures!), and G called me to tell me that the Kinsmen & Kinettes had decided to till up the sand & clean up the park this afternoon. Frig. Thankfully, we knew & are good friends with a couple, if not all, of the people out there working. G talked to them & they said they'd quickly till up the main sand area, then do other stuff until we left. Awesome!
Then we went to the picnic tables (since they were painting the gazebo), to have cake & open presents. Ry got tons 'o stuff, of course. Lots of Star Wars stuff, so those were ripped open the second we got into the house, lol. Seriously, the cake was AMAZING. I took in a couple of Ry's SW guys & told D to go to town. She did SUCH a good job. Here, I will oh so slowly add a picture, just to show you all (or is it just you?). And it tasted oh so yummy too. I LOVE Co-Op cake. And the icing is good too. Mmmmm, Co-Op cake :D

There, that is the only picture I will post. The rest are on FB! Now I am just waiting on supper! Hamburgers & hotdogs, corn on the cob, YUM! I love summer :D
Ponderings
Why are we always so busy, with something on the go? Good thing is I don't FEEL busy. Until I write it down & then get anxious. Oy.
Today is Ry's birthday party, finally. We are going to have it at a park in town. I'll bring sandtoys, & the boys can play, so they should be occupied. Then we'll do cake & presents there as well. He is very excited though! And is convinced he is 6 now. Crazy kid. We keep telling him, no, you just turned 5, & this is your 5 year old party, just late. I still don't think he gets it, LOL.
This week is semi busy. The boys have eye appointments Wednesday morning, then I have my splurge group that night. Thursday night is the Co-Op Kids Club Mother's Day cake decorating class. Ball starts too, but I don't remember which day (and neither does G, who is a coach!).
Tomorrow, Ry's class is walking to Lion's Park, which should be fun. It is supposed to be nice, finally! He is excited for that. Other than that, not much else happening! I suppose I should go shower & get ready for the party!
