Let's see, what have we been up to?? Well, hockey is a big one. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday are all practices. Plus games & tournaments. It's a LOT of hockey. I've inhaled more than my share of rink fries & coffee. But, what can you do? Well, how about letting your 7 year old try out for a SECOND hockey team!! Makes sense, right? Yeah, I thought so too, LOL.
Anson tried out for the Wheatland Wild 2k2 back in December. And made it. So now, on top of the "regular" hockey we go to in town, Anson also has 2 practices on Sunday, in random prairie towns. Annaheim, Birch Hills, Wadena, Humboldt, Aberdeen. Good times. Annaheim has really good rink burgers, BTW. No fries though.
Because Anson made this team, it also means our hockey season has been extended for 3 months, now ending in June, instead of March. He will play in hockey tournaments in Edmonton, Saskatoon, & Winnipeg. He is so very excited! I can't wait for the Edmonton tournament, hehe. I have really been missing West Ed Mall! This also means we'll only about 6 weeks of no rink this year. Power skating starts mid August. Nothing beats going to Power Skating, then going swimming!!
So, that is what is taking up a LOT of our time. On top of running to the rink just about everyday, I've taken up a new hobby! When I was little, my grandma taught me how to knit, crochet & sew. I have not done anything related to those 3 things since probably grade 8. Until last month, when I decided to crochet one of those cute, frilly, girly hats for my neice Savannah. And well, yeah. Addiction city. I've made hats for G, the boys, myself, my neighbor & her daughter, & more & more hats! I have so many hats, that I finally posted pictures of them on FB to see if I could get rid of them. And it's working! For $10, you can get a cute hat for your sweet little baby, or for $15, for yourself!! And you can pick your own color, & style (with a brim, or earflaps, or tassels, or "hole-y", or with a flower, whatever!). If you want, check them out! I'll hook you up (hahahaha, it's so brilliant! "HOOK" you up with a hat made from a crochet HOOK, buwhahaha!!!!).
Ahem. Apparently I need more coffee. My brain is slightly off kilter :D
OH! More big news for us too!! G's little brother & his wife welcomed their new baby last Friday, February 12. Miss Harper Elizabeth was born at 3:15am, weighing 7 pounds, 11 ounces. We've seen pictures, what a cutie! Big brother Sloan loves giving her kisses. We are hoping they come to Tisdale soon so we can all meet her.
The Olympics are on, so our TV has been on CTV permanently since the 12th. We were quite excited when Canada won gold medals in Men's Moguls & Womens Snowboard Cross!! Today, we are gearing up for the big Men's hockey game tonight! Ryden already has his Canada hockey shirt on & Anson has been playing hockey on the Wii & his PSP to get geared up. Should be an exciting night, & here's to Canada's win!! Eh-oh Canada GO!!!!
That's about it. The boys are off school this week & have just been hanging around. I keep kicking them outside, but that only works for about 15 minutes at a time. If they aren't outside or watching the Olympics, they are begging for snacks & just generally making me feel slightly twitchy. Monday will come soon, I hope!! 4 more days!!
