Party, Party, Party!!

When the New Year comes around, I always get the itch to plan a party. It`s probably because we have have managed to cram 3 celebrations into a 2.5 week span.

My wedding anniversary is March 30th. We don`t generally do much, go out for supper, then head to my inlaws for cake. This year is our 10th. Wow. My husband asked to be "in charge" this year. He wants to plan a trip. I don`t see it happening. The boys are just too busy! Ryden is just finishing up his hockey season, Anson is wrapping house league hockey, & starting up AAA hockey. There is the hockey banquet. Etc etc. If we can swing a weekend away, I`ll be happy heading to the city for a couple days! Otherwise, supper out if fine by me! And maybe a diamond or 2 ;)

Ryden turns 8 April 13th. He has choosen his theme, Lego Star Wars (of course). He wants everyone to dress up in Star Wars costumes, & wants Lego Star Wars decorations. I have started researching food ideas, & have found some CUTE ideas! Like preztel sticks dipped in white chocolate dyed red, green & blue to make light sabers, "Wookie" cookies, & more (now to find my list haha!). I also found a cute party favor idea, if I can find pool noodles! Cut them half, wrap 1 end in black tape & make light sabers! Awesome! The boys would LOVE it!

Anson turns 10 April 14th. He wants an Oiler party. So, pretty much orange & blue. There is not a whole lotta inspiration out in internet land for this theme. Sadly. While searching, I came across ONE thing. Cupcakes with a cupcake topper. That`s it. So I need to figure that one out on my own. So far I have road hockey. Yep. I am going to make the kids all stay outside & play. Best. Party. EVER. LOL!

I am hoping to dump more ideas here soon, & in a more oragnized fashion. Anson has a hockey game in an hour, so I guess I should change out of my sweats!

OOOh! For the oiler party make chocolate cake and use a large cup to cut out "hockey pucks" for the kids to decorate themselves! It will make a HUGE MESS, but they'll love it with white icing and orange and blue sprinkles!

If you have a air hockey table have a tournament! (or just have a shoot out outside to save your eardrums)

Play "Hockey Trivia" but gear it towards hockey in general for those who may not know the answers about the Oilers.

AND you can't forget the hockey themed goody bags! Orange and blue bubble gum balls, suckers and such, mini sticks and pucks from the dollar store etc etc

Should be fun! Good luck :)

NESS! You are amazing! THAANK YOU! We are going to do cupcakes, because my friend makes ADORABLE party supplies (A Pook & A Peep on FB). But, I was thinking of making sugar cookies in the shapes of pucks & hockey sticks. We do have an air hockey table, & nets outside, & mini stick nets inside, haha. There will be tons of hockey playing for sure :) Trivia will be fun too!! Love it!! Now to research hockey trivia, hehe!!
