Welcome to my life as a SAHM of 2 boys. Things may be quick & exciting, or they may be slow. Depends on the day & the boys! There will be TONS of stories about my boys. And, once I figure it out, pictures. So, enjoy reading!!

Almost.
Garth's granpda passed away yesterday, at 1:15am. Thankfully, in his sleep. The funeral is Friday, in Bjorkdale, at 2pm. The boys (after MUCH consideration & debate & snarkiness) are going. Garth is a pallbearer, with his brother & cousins, the grandsons. We've not been notified of anything else. No one has called us, I don't even know who is here from Alberta yet. Yeah. It's a poopy week :(

I Hate October 26
1
0 years ago today, my Nana passed away. She had cancer. It had started out as breast cancer. And she survived. It came back. Worse. Eventually, it got to her brain. We were told, in October, that she'd live well into the New Year. She passed away 2 weeks later. She was 63.
My Nana taught me a LOT. We would go to Springwater for weekends, and in the summer. She taught me how to play piano. She let me paint & craft to my heart's content. She got me interested in Job's Daughters, and so many other wonderful things.
We always had "big plan" when we went to Springwater. One year, for my birthday, she desgined a maple leaf cookie cutter for me, for my birthday (the day after Canada Day). We made cookies, iced them with red & white icing, & then we gave them to all her neighbors. One Christmas, Nana, mom, my 2 sisters & I went carolling. We made little forts with shingles in the winter, she would help do up floorplans.
She & Papa took my 2 sisters & I to the circus one year, and to a carnival, I forget where it was now, but I won $15 playing bingo. She would drive us to Calgary, to see mom, and a couple years before she passed away, she started taking me, my 2 sisters, & my 2 stepsisters to the water springs. We always did something new & exciting, and she was just as excited as us. So many memories. I'm remembering even more, as I write this. I need to write them down, so I can remember, & talk to my sisters to see if they remember.
Today. I hate today. I hate October 26. Today, Garth's grandpa very well might pass away. He has been sick for a long time. He had a stroke last December, 10 days after his 85th birthday.
I remember his birthday. The boys & I met Lucy (Garth's mom) at Co-Op. Every morning, Grandpa Otto walked to Co-Op to have coffee with the "boys". That morning, Doreen, Lucy's sister, arranged for the "boys" to have cake for Grandpa's birthday, so before I took the boys to school, we stopped for cake (my boys were thrilled! Chocolate cake for breakfast!!), and to chat. 10 days later, he couldn't talk.
The stroke made him unable to speak. His right side was paralyzed. In January, Grandma Irene moved him to Sasko Park Lodge. We visited a bit, not as much as we should have. He would zoom around in his wheelchair, using his one good leg. He'd crash into people. If Grandma was late, he'd show his worry by hitting her with his chair. Once, I had to stand on a chair so he wouldn't pin my leg under my chair.
He ALWAYS asked about the boys, in his non verbal ways. If Garth & I went to visit him without Anson & Ryden, he'd get mad. Huff & roll his eyes at us. We're not allowed to go see him now. Lucy doens't want us, any of us, to remember him right now, & would rather we remember him halfway healthy. I wish we could, just once, hug him, say goodbye, love you. I hate October 26.

Not Too Shabby.
I'm posting, YAY! Lookit me gooooo!!!
Hockey started Wednesday. Ryden did okay, I think. Garth said he wanted to be done, 5 minutes in, but he made him stay on the ice. He actually did really good!! And he loves it! Which is awesome, because I didn't want to force him, you know? And yesterday was the TimBits hockey school. Ryden was on the ice for OVER an hour!! No problem!! He didn't once come to the gate. And, of course, Anson LOVED it! After that, they got to play in the gym for an hour, & then all the kids got mini sticks & a ball. The boys were excited because the sticks have Sidney Crosby on them.
Last week, I also started priming the bathroom on Thursday. Friday, I painted it Rift (yellow)! WOO! I love to see things actually get done. Eventually I'll get up crown molding. And after I do a couple touch ups this week, & then Garth will put in the tub surround & the floor. Then the bathroom will be finished! I'm so excited!!
Another big house thing going on? Tomorrow the shingles are getting done!! Garth talked to a friend of his yesterday at hockey & he said he was free Monday & Tuesday to do it!! Thank goodness Garth doesn't have to go on the roof now, that had me stressed out!
That's about it. Haloween is in a couple weeks, so the boys are pumped about that. Otherwise, we're just hanging around!! Until next time!

Oops, I Did It Again
I fell off the blogging bandwagon. BUT, I have been insanely busy!! So yeah....here's my update though!
Last week, Garth was working in the bathroom. I finally dragged the boys out (they were "helping") so they could go to bed. We were upstairs when I heard Garth yell "Oh DARNIT!" (and that is what he really said, no swears!!). I ran down to see what he smashed, to find his arm in the sink. I was like, what happened? What did you do?? He pulled his arm out of the sink & all I saw was blood. LOTS o' blood. The fool stabbed himself with the drywall saw. So, I had to call his mom to watch the boys & then take Garth to the ER for stitches. And, now the bathroom sits. Yet again. Ergh.
Hockey starts next week. Garth & I went to PA on Wednesday to get the needed things. Anson needed equipment, & Ryden needed a helmet. Garth also got them new skates. Then we went to Wal-Mart & got them their Halloween costumes (Ryden is Darth Vader & Anson is Anakin Skywalker). Then today, the boys & I were at Pearson's & we found a Darth Maul costume for Garth. I think I am going to get it for him, LOL.
Last weekend, Ryden had a birthday party. Anson wormed himself an invitation (the birthday boy's big brother & Anson are pals). So we went bowling. We have another birthday party on Tuesday. Again, Anson wormed himself an invitation. I think Ryden needs to find friends with little brothers, LOL!!
I've been working on my 101 goals. It's going eh. I don't make my bed until I actually GO to bed. I need to do it in the morning. It's hard though, becuase Garth sleeps in, and then I don't think about it when he gets up, so I forget until I go to bed. Blah. But, I have been using my household notebook again!! And, I've implemented a new cleaning schedule I've done very well following! And it eats into my computer time, which is another goal (less computer time), so yay for that! I still need that printer, though, dammit.
I've also been scrapbooking. I had been stuck in a rut, doing only new pictures, when I want to focus on getting the boys baby pictures. On Monday, I did 5 pages, & only 2 were "new" pics!! YAY!! I'm going to try to "match" new pic pages, with baby pic pages. For every page of new pics I scrap, I have to do 1 that is one of the boys' baby pics. I hope that works!! Also, a mommy forum I'm on has a monthly cyber crop, where they do 8 challenges in a weekend. I won!! I am getting a box of scrapbooking goodies in the mail, YAY!
Thanksgiving is this weekend! YAY!! I'm not really sure what is going on yet, but I am making a turkey & all the "fixin's". My sister may come here, but she doesn't know. My inlaws will probably come, since they'll just be getting home from visiting my brother in law. All I know is, there will be us 4 here for sure, LOL. Last night I baked cookies, butterscotch chip & sugar molasses. YUM! Tomorrow, the boys & I are making turkey & pumpkin shaped gingerbread & sugar cookies, butter tarts & I'm making homemade buns. At least we will have lots of treats for Thanksgiving if nothing else!! Thankfully, a lot of it can be frozen. Or, I will be inviting a lot of people over for coffee & baked goodies!!!
So, there is my update! And I promise to try harder & update more often!!

What's New?
Not a lot. But a lot. Makes sense, no?
It's Primetime week. So, I'm catching up on my shows. I'm so happy! And, it's Oilers preseason, so you know what Garth & the boys have been doing. Sunday is what I'm looking forward to the most, & Desperate Housewives (please don't call our house Sunday, lol).
Garth had today off (it's his Sunday today, he has Wed & Thurs off), so this morning, we dropped the boys off at school, then went for breakfast! It was so nice!! We could sit with a cup of coffee afterwards, & not have to rush out because the boys were bored. True, we had an egg bagel from Robin's, but it counts ;)
Ryden is still loving his school. He loves to bring home his crafts & play with Josh. His class needs a family picture. Guess what we haven't taken since Ry was 8 months old?? LOL. That is on our list for this weekend. Even Garth was shocked it had been that long!
Anson is doing well too! He loves showing us how he can read. And he is doing so well with it too!! We had an incident yesterday (sorry again Tara), that the schol handled atrociously, I thought. I was not impressed. However, chicken me, I haven't said anything. Anson & I talked, Tara & I chatted (thanks T!), so it's all good, but still. Oy. School politics can go suck an egg.
I was offered a FREE ticket to Reba tomorrow night, in Saskatoon. Sadly, I couldn't use it :( Garth works Saturday morning, so there is no one watch the monsters. I'm so sad! I really wanted to go! I'm sure if I had more than 10 minutes, I would have found a sitter, but nope. So, now I am not going to Reba. Boo.
I found out yesterday, that my mom is planning on retiring 3 years sooner, and to my mom's hometown (3 hours away). Yeah. That was a shocker. It's good, because now I will still have a link to Springwater again. But yeah. Wow. I didn't think she'd move back to SK (she is in Calgary). Yay, I think!
And, I think that's it. Told you. Lots, but not lots. Exciting!!

It's A Commercial...
so I'm taking a Grey's pause to post this, I got it from Tara. Thanks T.
It's a survey about your first born. That would be Anson, in our house!!
1. Were you married at the time? Heh, barely. We were married 15 days before Anson came!
2. What were your reactions when you found out you were pregnant? Surprise. Garth dropped the phone into a pot of chili when I called to tell him (did I mention he moved to Alberta right after I got pregnant? Good times!).
3. How old were you? 19.
4. How did you find out you were pregnant? I went to the doctor, with my best friend, since Garth was 8 hours away.
5. Who did you tell first? Danielle, since she came to the doctor with me. Then I called Garth, hung up on him, called him back, & he dropped his phone into chili. Made for some good laughs!
6. Did you want to find out the sex? No, but yes. We didn't.
7. Due date? April 21, 2002!
8. Did you deliver early or late? Early, he was born April 14, 2002, so exactly 7 days early!
9. Did you have morning sickness? Nope. Except for 1 fainting spell in September (in West Edmonton Mall, no less), I was totally healthy, no sickness.
10. What did you crave? Big Macs & jalapenos. But not together.
11. Who irritated you the most? Not much. Living far away from my family for the most part!
12. What was your first child's sex? Boy
13. How many pounds did you gain throughout the pregnancy? FAR too much. At my last appointment, 6 days before he was born, I was 171 pounds (I started at 105). I KNOW I gained more that last week. Sadness :(
14. Did you have any complications during your pregnancy? No. Until I went into labor.
15. Where did you give birth? Hinton General Hospital, Hinton Alberta.
16. How many hours were you in labor? Way too long! 42 hours!! YUCK!
17. Who drove you to the hospital? My husband. After we went home & I cleaned the apartment (we were at my BIL's when I realized I was in labor).
18. Who watched? My husband, his aunt, his cousin, a bunch of nurses (I was the only patient, it was a slow night, lol).
19. Was it vaginal or c-section? Section.
20. Did you take medicine to ease the pain? You bet your booty! And had I known it would take the angel doctor an hour to get there, I'd have asked for it sooner!
21. How much did your child weigh? 8 lbs 2.5 ozs
22. What did you name him/her? Anson Brock
23. How old is your first born today? 6 years, 5 months & 11 days :)

Missing Summer Time Ease
This week was the start of our normal school/winter routine. It is the first full week of school for both boys, & Garth is working his lame winter schedule (Wed & Thurs off, days Fri to Tues). As it is, I've hardly been home the past week or longer. And this week is not looking promising either.
Today, Anson had his school pictures! Such an adorable little man! However. I forgot that today is Show & Tell. Oops. So I've had to write it on my calendar so we don't forget again! That's all Anson gave me about school. Every time you ask him what he did at school that day, he'll say either "nothing", or "I don't know". Such a helpful little guy! Then he came home & played on the computer, & had 3 plates of supper. I'm in some serious trouble as the kid gets older. I wonder if they have a Hollow Leg Food Fund??
Today was Ryden's first Parent Monday. It was a sad affair today, since Tara wasn't there :( Now that her son is in kindergarten, she's moved on, so it was weird! Last year, Tara & I (and the boys of course!) went every single Monday. So it's weird to go & not have her there! I miss her!! Also, this year, because there is a new teacher, it is run a little bit differently! This year, when we get there, we get to go to the library to take out a book for the week! Ryden was so excited to pick one of his own!! And then we went to his class to do his craft (we colored & made little frogs today), and then play with the toys for a bit. He loves it, so we'll try to get there every week this year! Tomorrow, he has school, and his school pictures! Yay!
The rest of this week will be a gong show. Tomorrow the boys both have school, and I work while Ryden is at school. After that, I have a hair appointment at my friend C's house. I'm taking Ryden with me, because he is buddies with her son, so we thought it would be a good time for them to hang out!
Wednesday, both boys will be in school, and after Ryden is done at 11:30, we're going to Tara's, so Ryden can play with Owen. And I can get my Tara fix in, since she doesn't come to our Monday morning thing. Wednesday night, I have my scrapbook splurge group. I need to remember to get some pictures printed!! Eeps!!
So far, Thursday & Friday are looking pretty quiet. One of these weeks, Garth & I will have to head to the city (most likely PA) to get Anson's hockey equipement & Ryden's helmet. We have to do that before October 15. I think maybe we'll go on a Wednesday, so that Grandma can pick the boys up from school for us. It will be nice to go, just the 2 of us! And since Garth's birthday is in 2 weeks, we'll get his birthday gift (or part of it). Metallica (yipee skippy) realeased a new CD on Friday he wants, & he refuses to wait for Christmas, so now I'm down 1 stocking stuffer!!
Speaking of Christmas, yesterday I pulled out my handy dandy notebook (orgnaizedhome.com is an AMAZING site BTW, and has helped me a TON, until my printer crapped out!) & got my Christmas prep list. I also peeked at the cleaning lists & updated mine in my binder as well. I love my binder. It's so helpful!! And they have new pages to print, so I really need to get this printer issue resolved!! I love the Christmas list, each week you focus on 1 area of your house to get "holiday ready". It's awesome! I will have to play catch up, however, since I started 2 weeks late! But I'll get it done!! And I can't wait!!
So, there is my update, I guess I should head off to bed now. Night!!

Night!!
I Do Not Agree..
with the fact that my darling friend Tara is making me post blogs!! :)
She tagged me on her blog, with 2 things. Not 1. TWO. Nice huh? At least we have a tea date this week to make up for it!! Hehe. But I did get a cute, I *heart* Your Blog sticker that I have no idea what to do with. Hey Doug, I know you are stalking me (oh wait, it's called following, haha!), what do I do with the sticker thinger?? HELP! And thanks for not running me over with your cart today!
So. I need to tell you 5 unusual things about myself. I think I may have issues. With this I mean (you hush!). Like random unusual? Or, weird unusual? Good grief! Okay, here goes.
1. I hate corn. Except corn on the cob. And only from gardens I know!! No grocery store corn on the cob!!! Blah!
2. I would much prefer to eat cereal for supper. And if I could do it in my house of carnivores, eat no meat. I hate most of it. And especially the yucky raw part. Sadly, my boys think they are part dinosaur thanks to their father & need blood for every meal.
3. (this is super hard) I will randomly bust out the 80's dance moves, much to Garth's dismay. Or start singing New Kids on The Block & Backstreet Boy songs.
4. I freak out when the boys (and that includes Garth) mess up the DVDs & CDs, and they aren't alphabetical anymore.
5. My husband gave me a new nickname this summer. S'more Whore. Because I gave him crap about making s'mores wrong this summer, & banned him from all future s'more preparation.
Now, I tag Jaime, Carrie, and Doug, because I think they are the only ones who read this. And sadly, that's not the required 5. Meh. You 3 still have to do it!!!

Helloooo!!!
Wow. I have a follower! What the heck is that?!?! :D
So, Ryden started school yesterday, yay! He LOVED it! He is a little sad that his teacher from last year isn't there this year (she moved back to her hometown & got married, etc etc). He does have the same TA, & she is AWESOME, so that is nice too. Sadly, my first "child free" morning was spent at work :( Boo. And even more sad? My Tuesdays will be spent at work. Oh well, such is life, no?
Anson is loving grade 1!! Today, his class, and the entire school, walked to the RecPlex for breakfast. They also got a Nutrition award of some sorts (yeah, awesome mommy Robyn really paid attention to that one!!), then bussed back to the school. He was so excited about it, and I got some great pictures, of course!!
I'm also going to start a new blog tonight. No worries! I am keeping this one!! But, my 2 little sisters are begining to "domesticate", and cook for their boyfriends, so they keep calling me for recipes!! So, it will be a recipe blog! YUM! Check it out, tomorrow maybe. We'll see how tonight goes.
Well, I think I'm going to scrap for a while. I need to clear off my desk first, since it's been used as a dumping ground of sorts lately. Until next time!!

Ho Hum
Not a lot happening. Today is raining & icky & fall like :( I miss summer. Although, the neighbor across the street putting Christmas lights up (on his unfinished house no less!) has me looking forward to Christmas!! I've started my shopping already, my SIL is done (well, I may buy her 1 more thing, we'll see), my sister Paige has been started, & the boys are about halfway. I'm quite proud of myself!
I think I will start my card list soon, and decide on the picture. I'm not sure if we'll take a new one (with Garth this year, instead of the boys!), or find one from the summer. I also need to start the Shutterfly gifts. Last year I made all of the grandparents albums of the past year, so I think it will be something I do again. Except this year, I will order one for us as well!! It's nice to see a recap of the year in 1 book. My scrapbooks are so all over the place right now!
Other than that, we are not doing a whole lot. Anson is at school today. Garth is off & is supposed to be fixing things around here (like, oh maybe, our shower?!?!) but instead, he is snuggled up in bed, because he is sick YET again. He's been on antibiotics about 2 times in the last 6 weeks or so. He feels better for a week, then he is sick again. I wish they could take his tonsils out!!
Speaking of Garth, someone in our house turns 35 in 3 weeks!! We threw him a surpise party when he turned 30, so that idea is out, but I do want to celebrate it somehow. I think that wil be my next "project". Even if we have people over for supper, & drinks, something of the like, I do want to celebrate. I also plan on putting a very funny picture of him in the paper too, I just need to get it from his mom!
And so, the latest from the Gagne's! Not very exciting, but what can you do, right? I'm sure that we'll be busy soon enough, that I'll have something more worthwhile to update everyone on!!

Happy Labor Day!
I got this from my fantastically hilarious, awesome friend (whom I really miss!), Tara. Go read her's too, it is awesome!!!
How long were your labours?
Anson? Far, far too long. My contractions/twinges started around 10pm Friday night (and I baked until 3am, nesting much??) & my water started "leaking" around 11am Saturday morning. I delivered him Sunday evening at 5:18. WAY too long.
Ryden? I woke up in labor, at like 5am. I had to pee, and noticed some pains every few minutes, then saw the blood. I forgot about the pains then. Ryden was born at 6:48pm. So just over 12 hours of active labor.
How did you know you were in labour?
Anson? I "peed" myself. Sort of. I didn't realize my water was leaking oh so slowly, I just kind of assumed I was leaking pee every so often. I went about my day, looking at houses, enjoying what would be my final meal until Sunday night (ergh), doing laundry. We went to my BIL's later that night, and then I felt some more wetness. I ran to the bathroom, & noticed that there was slightly more "pee" & I was like, whoa! I think my water broke!! I called the hospital, asking them about it, and the oh-so-helpful nurse told me that my water would gush, not leak. It just did not work that way. So an hour later, we called my husband's mother to chat with her. Garth mentioned the whole peeing myself incident, & she told me that is what happened when she went into labor with my husband. The helpful nurse was wrong! She asked if I was having contractions, and that's when we noticed that the twinges I had felt all day were about 7 minutes apart. We went home, I cleaned the apartment, got our bags & went to the hospital at 1am Saturday morning. I was just barely 4cm. 15 and a half hours later, I was barely 6cm, more so still a 5. I rocked at the whole dialating thing!
Ryden? Um, the pains every 15 minutes were a big clue. The blood was another "something is happening" sign. I called the hospital about the blood, at 7am. They told me to go to the clinc, which opened at 9. So I waited, went to the clinic. They told me to go to the hospital. I went home crying. Yep, I had a tiny bit of a spazz moment. I went to the hospital, & they hooked me up to the non stress machine. I was there for almost 2 hours. Not a movement. The nurse practioner called the doctor, and she told me to go home & come back around 2pm. Thankfully, I had a doctor in Saskatoon, and I called him when I got home. I told his nurse that I was bleeding, having contractions & just got off the monitor that did not record a single movement. She asked how soon we could make the 2 and a half hour trip. THAT realllllly freaked me out & I got a tiny bit hysterical. We made it to the city in an hour & forty minutes & went right to the ER, where I was whooshed up to L&D. A million and 3 people came in to ask me questions, including whether or not I had smuggled in any weapons. The third time they asked me, I told them that the baby had it, & to get both out of me. I may or may not have sounded like the possessed girl on The Exorcist.
Where did you deliver?
Anson? Hinton General Hospital, Hinton Alberta
Ryden? Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon Saskatchewan
Drugs?
Anson? Yes. About 6 and a half hours after I got to the hospital, I got the epidural. Had I known it would take the doctor almost an hour to get to the hospital, I would not have waited as long. That seriously sucked. I was MORE than ready to get the epi when I first asked, never mind having to wait an hour longer!!
Ryden? Sort of? It was an emergency c-section, so I got the spinal instead of the epidural (well, I guess they are the same, but the spinal goes in deeper, nice huh?)
C-section?
Anson? Yes. After DAYS of labor, they realized he was stuck. At 7am, I was 4cm. She threatened pitocin if nothing had happened when came back. She came back at 4, I was not quite 6. She checked me, & was like, oh. I feel a hand. I think. So she called in another doctor (a really HOT doctor!!) & he checked, & confirmed something was coming out first & it wasn't a head!! So they took an x-ray, & sure enough, the little sucker was coming out forehead first (brow presentation) & it was his nose they were feeling. C-section here I came!!
Ryden? Yes. I had an ultrasound & that is when they noticed his heart was enlarged, & was slowing down. WORST FEELING EVER. To have to watch my son's heart slow down, and to actually SEE that? I felt like it was my own heart slowing down. To watch it, & know that I was hurting him, he was dying because he was inside me, was the worst thing I have ever EVER had to go through. I barely had time to digest what we were watching, and what was going on, before they started to prep me for surgery. My grandparents were with me, & that is the second time in my entire life I've seen my granpda cry (the first being when his mother passed away in 2000), and the first time my grandma cried. In the 10 minutes it took to get me to the OR, his heart slowed from 120, to 60. By the time he was out, he was blue & unresponsive. We were told later that had we been any later getting to the city, he would not be here today.
Who delivered?
Anson? Dr Cafferty, assisted by my doctor, Dr Reiss (she was freaking AMAZING, best doctor ever!!)
Ryden? I have no idea. It was supposed to Dr. Sheridan (who, upon hearing I had had my baby early, popped his head into my room, flatly stated "you just couldn't wait, could you?" & then promptly walked out, for me to never see him again), but I just got the first obstrectian they could reach. I don't even know if the doctor was male or female! Nice huh? No other doctor ever came to check on me afterwards, just the nurses. In fact, the doctor that messed up, er, gave me my spinal had to tell me it was a boy!! Garth went to see him & I heard him ask the nurse, but didn't hear her answer. I didn't see him until he was 5 hours old, on a ventilator.
And those are my labor stories!! I'm glad to have gone through it, and that I have my babies. But it's not anything I wish to repeat in the near future. Can't wait to read everyone else's!!!

Mopeity Mope Mope
Well, summer is officially over :( Today is Labor Day, the last day of summer. I'm so bummed. I love summer. The heat, the cookouts, the laid back, easy pace. Now it's back to business. School, hockey, snow & cold.
We had a fairly uneventful summer. The boys & I went to Saskatoon for a few days, went to Kinsmen Park with my brother Brett, and the Forestry Farm with Brett, my sisters Paige & Michelle, & Michelle's husband Dan, and my mom. We also went to Greenwater in June, the boys LOVED the beach!
Swimming lessons were in July, the boys learn SO much more when they are in the 1 week set of lessons, than in the 2 week sets. We'll be doing 1 weekers from now on. We didn't get the boys in their second set we promised, since Ryden got tubes in his ears July 31. Next year, they will each take 2 sets. Anson will take both Level 1 & 2, and Ryden will do both Crocodile & Whale (I think), since he'll be too young to take Level 1.
Anson started school last week. Grade 1. It makes me so sad that my baby will be gone all day, everyday. I think he likes it. I ask him what he did, he says nothing. I ask if he likes his teacher (Mrs. Sisson), he says yeah. It's like getting blood from a stone! The child won't tell me anything! He is, however, excited that hockey starts October 15. Me? Not so much.
Ryden met his new teacher on Thursday, Mrs. Tiganov. Mrs. Armstrong will be the TA again, Ry loves her! He starts going to school September 9. We also signed him up for hockey this year! We're going to try it for a month, just to see how he does. If he doesn't do well, or decides he hates it, we'll try again next year. But I do want him to try. I've been taking them skating at the rink to get him started & to work on his skating, so I hope that has helped!
That's about it. Today (and this past weekend) has been very lazy. We've just hung around at home, not doing a whole lot. It helps that it's being gross outside as well. I have done away with my 52 blessings blog, & have replaced it with my new "thing". I'm doing a challenge, 101 in 1001. Today is my start date. The object is to come up with a list of 101 things you want to accomplish in 1001 days. Check out that blog for all the info! Until next time everyone! I have some biscuits to make for supper!!

AND, my sister come home from Thailand on the 15th! At 11pm! She went to Thailand with her boyfriend for 40 DAYS! 40! That's insane!

Um, how do you say busy?? If anyone would like to come cook & clean my house next week, let me know, I'd appreciate it! Haha. And, people, this is just the tail end of things!! After next week, we're good to go! Anson will be done school on the 25th. Not taking Ryden 4 mornings a week will calm things down, ball is done on the 19th for the boys, and yes. Life will get quieter. Ahh. Bliss. Until July 14, when the boys start swimming. Blah.
Busy As A Bee!!
In Tisdale no less! LOL! It's end of school "season", which means class trips, & kindergarten grads, & cupcake marathons the night before we head to the city, & ball games, & being triple booked. Good times! Can you tell I'm feeling stressed? Yesterday was Ryden's year end trip for his class, & then Anson's class went swimming. And THEN, Anson had a ball game!! That's been our life the past 3 weeks. Busy allll day, then ball at night. Plus laundry & house things. Oh, & the mountain of crusher dust Garth ordered that got dropped in our driveway. Yeah. It will sit there until next week. We're going to Saskatoon tomorrow, for my used-to-be-step-sister-but-isn't-anymore-yet-I-still-call-her-my-sister's wedding. Good times. Now, I have to cut this short to pick Ryden up from school. I'll be back later today!!

A Lifetime Goal
I've been getting back into scrapbooking, YAY!! I have done a couple online crop challenges, it helps me actually accomplish SOMETHING. They give you a sketch, or layout to do, and then you post your results. It is so neat to see other people's takes on the same layout. The color combinations, the use of embellishments, which pictures they chose, etc.
I especially like doing an online crop, because then I get inspired to do other pages. I have 2 family albums, of just random events/things we've done, and I have 1 page done for Anson's album. I want to make each of the boys an album, eventually. In the end, I want all of our "good" pictures scrapped into an album. Which will take me...forever. Because I will always take pictures. I want to make the boys high school albums, and wedding albums, and grandbaby albums. I can't wait! This is my lifetime goal, to scrapbook my family's life.
To accomplish this, I have created my own little space in my (our, whatever) bedroom, under the window. It's quite primitive right now, a hunk of plywood tossed on top of 2 bookcases. Yeah. I kind of worked with what I had, lol. Eventually, if we ever have the space, I'd like a room of all my scrapbooking STUFF. For right now, my space works. It could use a little more organization, but it is decent. I just wish we had a laptop now, so I could bring the computer upstairs, lol. Ahh, that would be heaven! Off to work on more pages!!

Flashback
So. I have to rant/vent/let it out out. I admit, I spend a lot of my day online. I visit a couple mom fourms. Oh alright, there's about 4 I visit everyday. There is one, a mom one, that while I hate the board, I go back because I have made some friends there, and I like to check up on them. Other than that, the board sucks. I have never ever felt more unwelcome, ANYWHERE. And the worst part is, it is a freaking FORUM! Not a single person there knows me in real life, yet, they hate me (except for the 5 or so I would consider to be friends). Because they feel I made bad choices as a parent! Isn't that funny!
Let's see if I can list what I did wrong. I had c-sections with both boys. TO SAVE THEIR LIVES. But, that was wrong, I should have let my children die, instead of having a section. I had to quit breastfeeding Anson, because my milk disappeared. But, I should have starved him instead of "giving up". I quit breastfeeding Ryden the day of his first birthday. I should have let him lead the weaning process. I don't work, I stay at home, I'm not a vegetarian, it's endless. And yep. Not a single one of these women have met me. Amazing isn't it? That they know me so well online, they can dictate my real life.
The worst part is, I had no issues with a majority of them. Just one (I blogged about that situation before, about my sections & how I "copped out" of giving birth). But, because this is apparently high school all over again, the "leader" hates me, so everyone else has to. I was really close to one of the women, but apparently, she is a follower of the know-all mom (who has 1 child, that is a lot younger than my boys). So now, she ignores me. Deleted me off her facebook, myspace, MSN, etc. Yeah. That was mature wasn't it? (PS - I know, I too, am immature, blogging about it, & making an "issue" over this. I'm just fed up, so don't read if you don't like my whining).
The worst part is the feeling of being ignored. Someone brought up an issue a family member was having, and it was something I had personally experienced, so I offered a tidbit of advice. Every single person that replied to that thread was thanked. Me, not so much. I wasn't even acknowledged. Nice, isn't it? I'm just so over the whole, giggly, wigged out teenager aspect of things. These people have children, and are supposed to be role models. Yet, go around treating others like freaking garbage (it's not just me, BTW, they have done, and do, it to other moms on the board). And yet, people don't get why society is effed up.
Anyway. I'm just so tired of being treated like dirt, and being made feel so unwelcome. I am done high school, and have been for awhile, yet, here I am, in a high school situation. So, I'm done with that board. It sucks, because I have made a couple true friends on there, but at least I'll have my sanity, I suppose. My last visit was last night, and I will likely not be going back. What a friendly board.
(I promise not to be grouchy in my next post, sorry!)

A Homeowner's Weekend
Today is a "house day". Ever since buying our house, when it's nice outsie, we have home weekends, where we do...well..home stuff. We've built a deck, tore off a veranda, organized a toy room, painted a bathroom. You get the idea. Today will be a day of organizing the awkward little area that I am in now. It's the entrance slash office slash...nothing. It was originally the kitchen, so we have a lovely gas line poking up through a hole in the floor. I think I'm going to move my scrapbook desk down here, to under the window. And then I will really have to organize it & clean it up!! And if that doesn't work, then back upstairs it goes until I can find a hutch or armoire (for cheap!) to store it all in!! Garth has his own projects he wants to do, that he couldn't do yesterday.
Speaking of yesterday, we went swimming! It was a friend's son's 6th birthday, so we went to Melfort's pool. The boys had a blast swimming, and then we had hot dogs & cake. Me, being the great friend I am, left poor Aiden's present at home. In Tisdale. Oops. So I ran it over after we got back to town. Sorry again Aiden!! He absolutely adored his water gun though! Have fun mom & dad!! Owen was quite the fan of the soccer net we gave Aiden, so I know it will get used!!
Aren't I exciting? Such a wild weekend! I tell ya, I need to slow 'er down sometimes!! LOL! Ciao!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like...
SUMMER!!! YAY!! The boys are outside (and have been since they wolfed down lunch), and have no intentions of coming in anytime soon. And, garage sale season has started in our little town! The Anglican Church Rummage Sale is the official "season starter" here. Anson & I stopped in after we dropped Ryden off at school. Yeah. Not a whole lot. Anson bought Pokemon Monopoly for a whole quarter. I was certain I'd come home & toss it because a good chunk was missing, but nope. Everything is there! Score!
I also made a summer purchase today (not from a garage sale though). I bought a pool for the backyard! Just one of those above ground ones, the blue ones from Sears. But, I can guarantee the boys will be in it just about everyday! I can't wait to get it set up & filled. And for it to be warmer out! I know it will be a summer highlight for us!!
I have to take Amiera back to the vet today. She got spayed about 3 weeks ago (or was it 2?), and was also treated for ear mites. Well, she's still scratching her ears like mad!! Although, as Murphy Law predicts, she hasn't scratched since I called Dr K. Hmph. We'll get there & she'll be fine, and it will have been a waste of my time, fighting her in the car, making the boys get in the car & seatbelts done up, etc etc etc. All the fun stuff that happens when you take a cat & 2 kids to the vet. Exactly how I wanted to spend my afternoon!! Maybe I'll buy supper after our "excursion", since it will have taken so much out of me, lol!! Otherwise, it's something microwavable!!

Oops, I Did It Again!
I slacked! Sorry! But, we have been crazy busy around here! The boys birthdays were April 13 & 14. Ryden had his Pirate Party on the 13, and had a blast! Anson's party was the 19, and he was supposed to play road hockey outside. Instead, it was miserable (of course), so there were TEN kids in my house. Yep. Ten. 1. 0. 10. It was a tiny bit insane! Yikes. But, he loved it, and had fun, so I suppose that's all that matters, right?
Ryden got a nasty cold mid-April. Of course it hit his ears. And, that was when he had his 4 year check up. They did the hearing screening and the nurse tells me, Ryden can't hear. It can't be, I say. He has a cold. I go home, crying. Garth & I whispered at him, hid our faces & whispered, he heard us fine!! I talk to Ryden's teachers, they haven't noticed anything. I take him to the dr the next day, and yep. His right ear is bulging. Two weeks later, we go back (yesterday), and his ears are better, YAY! Then I find out that, in the Winter of 06/07, Ryden was on medicine for ear infections 10 times!! 7 in 2006, and 3 in 2007 (Sept 06 - Apr 07). Um, gulp. We are seeing the nurse practioner right now (drs are too busy for us), but she is awesome. Answering any & all my questions. She said they'd watch him really closely to be sure he isn't having issues (the first nurse was sort of a drama queen about all of this, BTW), and that if I have any concerns, whatsoever, let her know. I guess I hesitated, because she asked, what? I mentioned that my sister Paige is deaf in one ear, and has had tubes a couple times. My awesome NP said, ok, let's get him in now. So today, I got his appts called in. He goes for an ACTUAL hearing test May 14 (and we also see our NP that day, but that's for his asthma). It will be a real hearing test, none of this stupid, public nurse crap. And then we see the EN&T dr in June (we know him, he took Anson's tonsils out last year, his bedmanner lacks quite a bit, but he's a good surgeon). OH! And DramaNurse called today, wanting to change the time of Ryden's re-screen. Here's our conversation:
DN ~ Hi Robyn, it's DramaNurse. I was wondering if we could change Ryden's appt at the end of May to 4, instead of 9?
Me ~ Oh, I was going to call you this week! Actually, Ryden is getting a real hearing test done with the audiologist on the 14th, so I was going to cancel.
DN~ Oh, so he IS deaf then!
Me ~ Um, no. This is preventitive, never mind the fact that he is prone to ear infections. I was really uncomfortable with how you handled it, so I took him to the dr the next day. This is what we decided.
DN ~ Oh, well, have a nice day th..... *click*
Did I mention I do not like DramaNurse? Yeah. Fun, isn't it?
Anson is all signed up for ball. I'm *cough cough* coaching. Yeah. Because I'm athletic!! Or, not. We'll see. LOL. I'm volunteering for the Diabetes Foundation & canvassing next week (just 2 blocks, by my house). Yeah. Not a lot going on, but at the same, doing a lot!! LOL! OH! I won!! I finally won a blog contest!! I won a really pretty mommy bracelet from MJennings Desgins! I'm so excited to get it!! And, that's it for the life of Robyn! Aren't you glad you've stalked my blog everyday for that update?? :)

Um Hello?
Anyone still following? I know, I'm a total slacker. I will get better, I promise! The boys' birthdays were last week, my babies are 4 & 6, boo hoo hoo!! Anson is registered for ball. Easter was, eh. Helped with my grandpa's estate sale, which went really well, but was really sad. I'll have to write more later, I'm just getting ready to take Ryden to school. Just wanted all my blog buddies (if any exist!) know I was ok! I will write more tonight, AND post pictures (amazing, huh??). Ciao!
